What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxFtLauderdale, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxFtLauderdale event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

As of 2010, the population was 1,748,066; making it the second most populated county in the state. Its county seat is Fort Lauderdale.It is also the eighteenth most populous county in the United States. Broward County is one of three counties that comprise the South Florida metropolitan area and boasts an International Airport & Port/Harbor, Beach, Colleges, Arts & Entertainment District all within a 15 minute or less drive of each other. It is also home to a number of vibrant cities, towns and villages that has something for everyone to explore and cultivate their dreams and ideas.
Scheduled for Saturday December 10th 2011 . TEDxFtLauderdale is an effort to drive and showcase the creative economy that is emerging in Broward County and to create an avenue to forge the organic interactions and collaborations between the many stakeholders that call Broward County their home.
TEDxFtLauderdale’s mission is to connect and inspire individuals and communities in Broward County by sharing ideas worth spreading.
